Persistence
I am a physician, but I am unable to find a job. Should I think that it is my destiny and stop searching? No. Tawakkul and true reliance on Allah (swt) means trusting Him and following the means. You apply for a job in several places, acquire higher degrees, get your internship, and meet with people. This is called following their means.
Repentance
Constantly seek forgiveness and say: “Astaghfirullah.” Allah (swt) says: “I said (to them): Ask forgiveness from your Lord; Verily, He is Oft-Forgiving; He will send rain to you in abundance; and give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers.” (Nuh 71:10-12)
Supplication
Ask Allah (swt) in your prayer, in your Sujood, to increase your provision.
One of the most beautiful supplications is:
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِىْ الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِىْ الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَّقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
“Our Lord, give us a good reward in the life of this world and a good reward in the life of Hereafter.” (Al-Baqarah 2:201)
The word ‘reward’ covers job, provision, wife, children, progress, and success in this world and in the hereafter.
Charity
Giving in charity and helping somebody to fulfill his need would facilitate your finding a job and making the search easy for you.
Prophet Muhammad (sa) said: “Allah (swt) will remain in the aid of a servant, so long as the servant remains in the aid of his brother.” (Abu Dawood)
